The Blue Flag in Northern Ireland

Seven Northern Ireland beaches have been awarded the exclusive Blue Flag award this year. This means that at each of the winning beaches the water quality was excellent and that the criteria for safety, environmental management, facilities, education and services were all properly fulfilled.

The Blue Flag Programme has been operating in Northern Ireland for a number of years with successful beaches extending from Magilligan in Co. Londonderry all the way to Cranfield in Co.Down.
