We are an environmental charity who campaigns directly to the public to bring about changes in negative behaviour. We try to persuade you to stop dropping litter and put it in the bin, as well as cleaning up after your dogs and not destroying the area you live by using graffiti and fly posting. Using our Keep Northern Ireland Tidy brand we have over 10 years experience of campaigning to achieve positive action. We have developed our survey techniques to enable us to gather data on how successful each campaign we run is either for ourselves, or in conjunction with other organisations. We also use these techniques to gather information on the state of Northern Ireland's environmental quality.
In addition to planning and developing campaigns we also develop bespoke campaigns for other organisations, which we can either run for the organisation or can develop a training package to enable them to run and monitor the campaign themselves. We have an extensive list of training programmes available including monitoring cleanliness levels (for a range of levels from cleansing operative through to supervisor) to more specific ones on how to run our TIDY business and TIDY communities programmes.
Other programmes we co-ordinate in Northern Ireland are Eco-Schools and Blue Flag awards for beaches. On this web site you will also find easy links to national Eco-Schools and Blue Flag sites with more comprehensive data.
We are in the first year of an existing and innovative partnership with Translink , where we have employed an officer to work solely for us on behalf of Translink. This partnership is to enable Translink to improve the local environmental quality along their main bus and rail transport routes by engaging and empowering communities and encourage positive behavioural changes.
